The Hebrew words for “blessing” (barak) and for “lightning” (barach) are strikingly similar. How fitting that a bolt of lightning from the sky similarly suggests a clear and present (and surprising) blessing, one that comes as a flash ignited by the Word of God. These daily meditations are shaped to afford wise guidance for the Christian life in a world of lightning strikes both good and bad. Based in the Scriptures and circling the liturgical church year, these candid readings provide unique and faithful insight for navigating the day-to-day life.
